Seva Course

Seva Course – GardeningThe sanskrit word “seva” is typically defined as “selfless service.” On a superficial level, “seva” can mean volunteer work at its best. A person assisting with what needs to be done out of a desire to help the cause, without remuneration or reward for work or service provided. On a deeper level, “seva” is action that comes from the Self, the essence of who one is. As people immerse themselves in work at Mount Soma for the greater good, they naturally start to experience the deeper meaning of seva.

This Seva Course is structured in a way that it brings a person’s awareness off of the personality self, and more to the Greater Self… the True Self. The longer and more fully people participate, the more the course activity nourishes them. This course is a powerful boost to a person’s spiritual evolution.

I had a really good experience at Mount Soma and with the meditation. I learned a lot about myself and how meditation can benefit my life. I hope to be back next summer. It was definitely better than working in the soup kitchen.
