When Elvis Presley was scheduled on The Milton Berle Show in 1956, Berle received a lot of hate mail about Elvis. Berle commented, “It looks like we have a star on our hands”. Oppose or like him, all the protests regarding Donald Trump echo of the same principle.
NOTE: This was written the afternoon of March 11 prior to the protests halting the Trump rally in Chicago later in the evening. With the conflict reaching such a crescendo, I hesitated to post this. However, after some reflection I suspect it is even more relevant.
I remember a comment you made not too long ago, maybe 3 or 4 years ago, and hopefully I will paraphrase well enough: If you notice a crowd gathering, move away.
Interesting blog-
Emotions are so high right now, it feels like we are on fire. It is hard not to get sucked into the anger and negativity.
While I don’t support, or like Trump for many reasons. The protesting and hate he gets on a daily basis is getting excessive.
I remember all the negative talk about Elvis and his disgusting display of sexy movements during his songs. My parents didn’t like him either…which made it hard for me to hide his records!
But…eventually…especially after Elvis joined the Army. The older generation began to see him differently as a soldier and stopped trying to ignore Elvis. The seal of approval finally for my parents and others.
Trump…like Elvis is outside the circle of “normal” people! They both loved America and wanted to see us prosper…just like the two of them have made it despite the odds against them.
Be patient and know our best interests are at heart. Trump wants to Save America from despair and bring back what has been destroyed by so many politicians going in the wrong direction!
All the opposition against Trump is evidence that he is doing something right. The more the power structure and establishment resist and oppose him, the more it will become apparent and obvious that the whole system is a charade. What we are witnessing is a lifting of the veil. We must all use discernment and hold the space. The outrage is only going to get worse. It’s extremely uncomfortable to move outside what is familiar, even if what is being held onto is horribly abusive. It’s painful, but it needs happen in order to correct and heal.
Regarding the previous blog on election spin, I have to say that pretty much all mainstream media is propaganda. They are most certainly intentionally spinning every which way they can. It’s a fact that almost all media is controlled by 6 corporations. Do you think they might have an interest in influencing the election? We need to be very careful about how and where we get our “in-formation.” Television is called programing for a reason. Please research Operation Mockingbird. Listen to John F. Kennedy’s speech to the media 1961. I do realize that I am inclined to perceive in this way, and am constantly questioning projection. I must, however, go on record and say that yes indeed the rabbit hole goes that deep.
I appreciate these comments and am enjoying hearing from you all on these current event blogs.
The old and the new. Emotions run high. I’m finding it difficult to believe anything I hear or read. Mostly I just stand back and smile. Politics can be very entertaining. I wonder how it will all work out. Hillary, Bernie, Donald, etc. an interesting cast of characters.
White socks are so gauche!
I love how politics currently has the fascination and emotions of the group consciousness. Whether it is Facebook or the comments to these blogs you can really feel the juice. It will be fascinating to see how it all plays out. I get the feeling we ain’t seen nothing yet…
Thank you for your blog!
I thought you insights were very interesting. In the relative world which includes different perspectives, there will always be disagreement. And the video was a lot of fun.
